screen orientation

is it possible to change screen orientation while in ur frontend i have tried to do it but it does not work by just  changing windows 10 display settings?

That would depend on the version you're running. I recently added rotation and mirroring to the code. As an alternative, you could indeed rotate Windows and use a vertical layout.

thanks for the response how do i find out which version i am useing as the person who i got it from has changed the icons etc etc
also i am currently using it in portrait mode for my fruit machines but when i use my quiz machines it must be in landscape and i have tried the display settings in windows and retrofe does not change with the rest of the screen.

Just check your log.txt file; it should list the version at or near the top.

Download 0.10.21 from http://retrofe.nl/Download/Release/RetroFE_full_0.10.21.zip
Unzip it in a temp directory.
Rename your current core directory to core_backup.
Copy the core directory from 0.10.21 to your RetroFE directory.
Replace retrofe.exe in the core directory with the one from http://retrofe.nl/SMF/index.php?topic=7.msg4621#msg4621
That should do the trick. If it doesn't work, simply remove the new core directory, and restore the old core directory.

cheers but that did not work i also downloaded the new version and tried that and that also did not rotate correctly thanks anyway for your help

Rotation needs to be configured in the settings.conf file, e.g.:
rotation0 = 1
This will rotate the screen by 90 degrees.

but that will do it straight away yes i need it to rotate from portrait to landscape when i select a parasitic game. is that possible cheers rob

This feature only rotates RetroFE. If you want to rotate your emulators, you'll have to do it in there.

cant retrofe follow windows rotation when running ?
eg i have it in portrait and press a short cut key to rotation app to landscape but retrofe stays in portrait. (i only need landscape for my quiz games which can only be played in landscape)

That's an emulator issue. MAME or example can set a rotation per game.
