Pi 4 image
(1/1)
RetroDevil#3:
Hello all we have been working on porting RetroFE to the Raspberry pi 4 .
Heres what we got so far .
The plan :
--Make a image you burn to sd card. When your pi powers on it autoloads retrofe base . Similar to retropie, batocera, etc .
With all emus and launchers included without roms or anything illegal include .
Maybe a few open source games for nes snes etc.
--First we are going to integrate into RetroPie . Cause that what most want .
Progress this far :
--We have successfully launched RetroFE on startup using Ubuntu Desktop, this was achieved by modifying the install.sh in retrofe/scripts/pi3/.
--Have found a few others that have been trying to port over RetroFE as well and started cross examine and working together .
--RetroFE installed good and operates fine with retropie installed .
To Do/WIP:
--Make/update retropie package script . We are working on modifying MisterB retropie script from pi 3 image thread on this site .
--Make theme for retrofe with pi logo somewhere in it .
Will update as we can . Appreciate the very nice frontend on linux .
RetroDevil#3:
********************UPDATE**********
Modified MisterB script for current retropie and dependencies . Attached is our retrofe.sh script.
Testing now so far so good . Installed dependencies and is building everything fine .
Just finished it launched fine was slow to perform though. I fell this is cause no vulkan drivers installed. Will install and add to install script if it helps.
How to use this
-place retro.sh in /home/pi/RetroPie-Setup/scriptmodules/supplementary
-run retropie setup from retropie or terminal with sudo /home/pi/RetroPie-Setup/retropie_setup.sh
-update retropie setup
-go to manage packages then experimental
-find retrofe install from source
