What tool are you using? What database are you trying match your roms to?

There are lots of tools that work really well for renaming roms. FatMatch works really well. If you have a folder full of artwork that is correctly named you can use FatMatch to to match your roms to the artwork. Or you can use ClrMAME. There are a lot of options out there. If you need help getting a specific tool to work let me know and I will help the best I can.

I will say this. IMO if any tool you use AutoMagicly does ALL the work for you, then it is not a good tool!

Hi,

I am using Don's HyperSpin Tools 4.2.6 and the XML database for MAME present in the release 0.8.0-RC1.
I have tried to split in 2 the xml file so that it reduces the number of entries to be checked with the CRC but no success.

I just want to match the rom names with the xml file and same after with the artworks

Thanks

There's no need to rename MAME roms. If you're trying to update your rom set you should use clrmamepro or romvault to rebuild. Any artwork you find out there should also match already for the most part excluding some minor clone name changes so there's really no reason to use a rename tool with MAME.
