There is a beta of CoinOPS Diamonds V2 in the works right now. V1 wasn't released officially.
BP has a habit of adding new features :)
It has been compiled from source from Pieter's GitHub site https://github.com/phulshof/RetroFE
You can compile your own, or wait for the beta :)

Thanks,
Andy

I applied the patch from Discord.
Here is the devel version starting in the attached video
Now to transfer it to a cabinet and get playing :)
I apologize for the bad camera work in advance...

Thanks so much for the help with the sound issue!

Also new patch Pieter made for next doesn't use double video layout statements....i can help on this stuff and it's something alot would love...for sure if it also did arcadia 4 as it's alot faster for arcade sorting

I will do some digging into the layout from Arcadia 4 to see the differences.
Mame was just compiled from source as per the Mamedev site with some ini tweaks (glsl) to get the look I was after.
Thanks for the offer of help, it is appreciated  :D

General Discussion & Help / Issues with sound on Ubuntu linux
« on: December 03, 2019, 12:15:34 AM »
I have been porting CoinOPS Next  Arcade Edition to Ubuntu Linux Bionic.
I have everything working fine in mame - bezels, screen effects etc
Theres just one thing left to fix.

When RetroFE boots, and the videos play, there is garbled sound.
This appears to be the sound muting and muting, or increasing and decreasing 10+ times per second.

I have run this on different machines with Intel/AMD processors and Nvidia/Radeon video cards.
I thought it might be the new animated volume, so I disabled all of those in layout.xml - didn't work  still garbled sound.

If I disable the <reloadableVideo imagetype screenshot statements, then the initial video plays, sounds fine,
but now of course I have no video in the game previews.

I'm thinking that there may be a bug in the SDL sound implementation.
My other conversions of Attract Mode all work fine.
I just like retroFE and CoinOPS better :)

Would anyone have any ideas?
I have attached a video to show what happens.

Many Thanks,
Andy :o
