Ohhhhhhhhhh, that was it!!!!! You're the best, thank you very much!! (by the way, Virtual On wasn't showing because the actual title is "Cyber Troopers Virtual-On" whoops)

Very sorry for the late response, I've been gone.

Ok, so I take it you're saying it should sort by title instead of filename by default?

About extra information, it shows the visual stuff as you can see, but I'm not on a skin that displays more stuff and I don't know of one to try.

By the way alt-tabbing makes RetroFe crash on my end.

edit: I noticed, maybe I'm wrong or blind, but some games aren't showing? For example I should have an entry for Virtual-On as "von.zip", but it's not there.

This is my settings.conf

list.romHierarchy = true
list.includeMissingItems = true
list.extensions = zip
list.menuSort = true
launcher = mame
media.artwork_front = %BASE_MEDIA_PATH%/%ITEM_COLLECTION_NAME%/item_artwork/front
media.logo          = %BASE_MEDIA_PATH%/%ITEM_COLLECTION_NAME%/item_artwork/logo
media.screenshot    = %BASE_MEDIA_PATH%/%ITEM_COLLECTION_NAME%/item_artwork/screenshot
media.video         = %BASE_MEDIA_PATH%/%ITEM_COLLECTION_NAME%/item_artwork/video

Cool! What do I need to modify, though? Some sort of line on settings.conf of he Arcade collection? Can't find anything except "list.menuSort" but I don't think that's it.

I guess this is more of a question, but I don't think this is handled in any way currently. So basically the prime example of this is that arcade games must be named in a very specific name for them to work with MAME, which conflicts with alphabetical sorting because the full name of the game is often different from this name. So for example, ideally I'd expect "Mars Matrix" to be after "Mars", but because of their filenames they are quite separate from each other and it's very difficult to know how to reach a certain game.

Definitely, I get what you're saying. I'm not even that settled with the way I currently have the artwork settled, but it makes the most sense to me right now and would appreciate the existence of the option. And I agree that if implemented it should be a optional line that is not enabled by default.

Oh, perhaps it's something on my end, but I'm sure I've downloaded different versions and none of them came with one.

Oooh, right. Well, I'm running RetroFE not for just old consoles, but systems up to Wii U and the latest Windows games, so maybe I'm in the minority that uses this as a frontend for all video games available and thus wouldn't have a problem in terms of computer hardware running it. In that sense I'd include the option to do it with artwork regardless and let the user deal with it if it gets slow and whatnot. But, I'd understand if you don't want to include it as a design decision.

This is a bit of an odd request, but anyway - the executable has no icon and it has been like that forever, I think. Well, isn't it time it has one? I know I can use a custom one, but I have a rule that I only use "official" icons (the ones bundled with the program in question), so this is kind of awkward for me haha...

This one: http://www.retrofe.com/forum/index.php?topic=278.0 looks pretty nice, for example, but I don't think it was ever adopted.

Great stuff! Is there any chance of this being expanded to artwork? With systems that have addon-dependant games, I format the folder considering that. So for example, for Mega Drive, instead of having all covers inside of "front", I have three folders inside "front" - "Standalone", "32X", and "Sega CD". I could lump them all in one folder, but it wouldn't be as "correct" imo. I could also divide the platforms and threat them separately from the RetroFE menu, but 32X and Sega CD aren't separate consoles, so that doesn't make sense to me.

That'd be nice, yes!

I wanted to say that my #1 requested feature would be this option you mention in the OP to assign multiple controls for one action, so there's definitely still interest on that. Not trying to hurry you or anything of course, just thought I'd let you know :P

Great!! The workaround you mention is not too bad - it kind of bothers me on an OCD-related level, but it definitely does the trick as a temporary solution.

There are systems that have games that aren't able to be launched with the emulator associated with the system. For example, one would typically include Mario Kart Arcade GP under "Arcade", but one needs Dolphin instead of MAME to run it.

It has been mentioned before, I'm just bringing it here to the new forum.

I want to have all the "artwork" outside of RetroFE. By changing the value mentioned, what am I changing? Is it the entire "collections" folder? Or just the "medium_artwork" and "system_artwork" folder? Do I also need to have the info.conf, exclude.conf, include.conf, and settings.conf located in the location selected on baseMediaPath=, or can it remain on RetroFE's collection folder?
