General Discussion & Help / Re: Amstrad GX4000

Thanks for the information above, perhaps you can explain one more thing...

For instance I have one rom called Pang made of 2 .bin files (Pang (Europe) + Pang (Europe)[a]), shall I place them both into the same zipped file ?
I think it comes from the fact that the game was made of 2 cartridges.

As well, I had the same romset but the extensions were .cpr instead of .bin, I believe it depends of the emulator you are using...

You just want one of those roms. The [a] version is just an alternative dump.

General Discussion & Help / Re: RetroArch Launcher
« on: May 02, 2017, 02:43:05 PM »
If like me, you wish to use RetroArch instead of MAME for launching games, I tried looking through the forum and could not really find anything conclusive on how to do so. However, I now have the Nintendo NES working, so once I get more systems added then I shall add to this. Please note that you have to have the cores installed to make things work.

PLEASE NOTE : I AM USING WINDOWS ONLY AND CANNOT COMMENT REGARDING LINUX

Nintendo Entertainment System (Text in red means that you might need to change to your file directory)
---------------------------------
executable = E:\Emulators\RetroArch\retroarch.exe
arguments = retroarch -L E:\Emulators\RetroArch\cores\nestopia_libretro.dll "%ITEM_FILEPATH%"

I hope this helps someone, I shall add to this slowly as I get bored after a while and then work on other things.

Infact saying that the chances are that all systems will work, as long as you just change the nestopia_libretro.dll to suit whatever emulator you need such as snes_libretro.dll for example

Regards

Mark

RocketLauncher is a... launcher. It also has support for retroarch as an emulator.

Sorry other guy, but I was still half asleep only on my second can of beer, two more, then a cup of coffee and I am good for the day :)

Ha! No worries, was just messing around ;)

Yep that's exactly by design. RetroFE is a 32 bit app - hence why the x86 c++ framework is needed.

Not bad for the other guy.

This is exactly what happens when the exe is ran from outside of the core directory or the supplied shortcut isn't used. The error messages basically cycle through the dlls in the core directory.

I just tried the supplied link but that brings up same dll message

msvcp140.dll is missing.

I downloaded the visual studio from the previous comment, but again that has done nothing.

Regards

Mark

Ok, now youre getting somewhere as this dll is a from a framework. The others you mentioned are RetroFE dlls hence why I knew the problem.

msvcp140.dll is from the visual c++ framework. Try this one...

Actually this issue is caused by running the exe from the wrong place. Try launching with the shortcut in the root folder.

Just load the exe directly.

Release 0.8.3 available:
- Added reloadableMedia and reloadableText type firstLetter to allow images/text displayed based on the first letter of a selected item.
- Fixed bug where <video> continued playing upon launch. Video needs to be turned off when a game is launched, and restarted when the game is complete.

Cheers for this!

Has anyone used 0.8.0 - RC1 without issues so far? :) I'm trying to get a feeling of where we are with this release.

I've been using it since you posted it, and it's working great for me.

Check the path for RocketLauncher. Make sure that is right.

Also, I wouldn't put RL inside of the RetroFE file. Keep them separate and at the same level.

Hey,

Do you guys know why retrofe.exe is now detected as a potential threat from my work antivirus (McAfee)?

Artemis!B97CEA03AFFA

the previous version did not have any problem with it, it is maybe an update from the database of McAfee though.

Cheers !

Nothing to worry about. This type of program is often falsely detected.

Provided you got it from a good source, as in this website, you're fine.
