General Discussion & Help / Re: A Couple Of Issues

I've seen no issues; I've merged it with the main branch. :)

I had a quick look. Overall I think it looks very good, but I have a few questions:
- I see the system logo visible in the middle of the screen briefly when switching between systems.
- When entering the collection menu, the video reduces visibly.
- When leaving the collection menu, the video enlarges visibly.
- When entering the main menu, the selected logo moves to the center visibly.
Are these intentional?

General Discussion & Help / Re: ePSXe issue

I'm using PCSX myself, but I had a quick look at ePSXe. From what I read here, you're missing the -loadbin option before the rom call in your arguments.

The pull request for this is up now; I've tested the build on Linux, Mac, and Windows.

I saw it, thank you. :) I'll give it a few tests myself, and then merge it with the main base.

I use MAME; works quite well I think.

I can change RetroFE to 24 or 30 FPS, but I doubt anyone else will be happy with that. 😀

There's not one included with 0.7.19? I'll have a look; I know I have one, though I'll compare to the one you linked.

I'll give some thoughts about how best to do this. It could be a settings.conf option, so only used if wanted.

Yeah, I'm working on that. I already removed the crashes on missing settings.conf files in the collections from 0.7.20b4.

Unfortunately I don't own an xbox controller. 😢 Any chance someone can debug this issue for me?

Just look at what cpufreq-info tells me:

That bug should be fixed in 0.7.20b3; did you test that build already?

Announcements / Re: RetroFE development

The loading of art now always waits until the animations are complete. The onHighlightExit animation doesn't trigger until all menu animations have stopped.

It's basically:
- menu actions
- onHighlightExit
- load art
- onHighlightEnter

Scraping xml takes more time than loading a database, so RetroFE stores all information in meta.db. I may consider loading on the fly, though MAME remains a huge one to load.

I'm familiar with the scaling principle, and even tried everything from turning off speedstep, c states, setting performance mode, and setting the minimum frequency to 2 GHz. The CPU ignores it all. 😢
