I hate to say this, but I am locking out BIG STYLE, I have been trying most of the morning, well past couple of hours, it is very slow on the splash screen, I am trying to add collections, but often when I run the program I have had to hard reset my computer about three times now as it locks up, even alt ctrl and delete does not work.

I never had such problems in the earlier build.

My PC is pretty decent spec

i5-3670k @ 3.5 ghz
4 gig of ram at the moment
64 bit os
a 780 ti graphics card

I have not checked out that website, but I would advise caution, especially when you are downloading dll files from non microsoft websites.

The reason being is that some dlls are rumoured to open your computer up to hacks.

Yeah, which was what I was more after and what I really meant. However, the rest will make it easier for me, just I am now sat here like an idiot looking at the progress bar. falling asleep lol

I am usually sat here like an idiot anyway, but feels like being hypnotised 84%,85%

Still as long as I don't start clucking like a chicken, I shall be happy

That's cool, thank you for putting it all together for us, I am downloading the lot anyway, and spending the weekend, trying to get some emulators up and running, and getting the arcade running at a certain level, it makes a nice change from messing with the jukebox and tagging music files.

Just to give my thoughts regarding this large folder that I am downloading all at once.

Is this actually worth it? If people have access to emu movies in the first place, they can use the automatic downloader which matches the xml to the files and downloads all the artwork.

Would it not be best just to include the best set up and basic graphics, skins etc for a working build?

I am on 17 gigs and still loads to download, I know that I prefer setting up one system at a time, to avoid as much human error as possible, games that I might strip in the future I am downloading the artwork etc for.

A basic set up would be a lot better, I still have 28 gigs to download so all in all about 40 gigs if people are on limited broadband connections, this method will be far too much for them.

Just my view anyway

The 32 bit version 86 one actually worked, and yet the 64 bit version did not work.

I am not sure if it is because I am downloading and transferring files, but when I loaded retrofe, it froze on the main screen for a while with no input, I had to ctl alt and delete to try shutting it down, but then it started working.

I just tried it again using a shortcut I had made, and that was faster than using the lnk file.

Yeah I had downloaded that previously with no effect. I am downloading the x86 one as well and will install that even though I am on a 64 bit system

This is exactly what happens when the exe is ran from outside of the core directory or the supplied shortcut isn't used. The error messages basically cycle through the dlls in the core directory.

I just tried the supplied link but that brings up same dll message

msvcp140.dll is missing.

I downloaded the visual studio from the previous comment, but again that has done nothing.

Hi Mark,

It is mentioned in the download section that for the new release, you need to :

Quote
Note: Windows users will require a recent version of Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio.

This should fix your issue normally - Have a look there and read the bottom part, you ll find the relevant link :

http://retrofe.nl/download/

Cheers, that has fixed that issue, but saying that I have another dll file missing as well. I shall have a look more later when I have woken up a bit more.

As for the other guy, I tried it in and out of the core directory, but none would work.

Sorry if this has been mentioned before,

Just messing around with the arcade system and tried to install this version

However, when trying to start it I get cannot start missing libgobject-2.0-0.dll

This was from a fresh install.

I'm mostly considering my site's bandwidth bill as well. 😀

Have you not thought about doing a torrent file? You could have the download link just on the website, so it hopefully does not go into the torrent scene, and then people can keep it shared. It would be one way of cutting down on your bandwidth.

Share your theme / Re: (Wip) Aurora V2, I have to think about it

Nice looking theme, obviously based around one of Kodi skins. It would look great on a large monitor for home cinema.

The major negative though, you only have two games, I would be bored in five minutes ;)
