General Discussion & Help / Re: MAME/MESS XML and include files

I used to have scripts that did that for me, but I had to do the last set by hand. I might have forgotten to generate that set.

Looks like I made some errors in the update of the theme file. Try this one.

I didnít have a full release planned, but I can see if I can find some time during the Christmas holidays to make one.

Can you upload some screenshots?

I'm not sure when I added the feature, but you could try setting
collectionInputClear = true
in your global settings.conf file. That might solve your control issues. The input code was recently rewritten though, so an update to the latest version might be worth it. You'd need the latest full version, and replace the retrofe.exe with the one from this post: http://retrofe.nl/SMF/index.php?topic=7.msg4621#msg4621

With regards to your screenshots not showing up: I presume these are fall backs for the videos? If so, in which directory are your screenshots located?

I believe the idea was to allow those games in a subollection or playlist, but not have them in the main list. Subcollections usually pull in the all list unless games are specified.

It's currently not a supported feature, but it's one I will consider implementing. The word wrap might not work too well for wheels, but the ... at the end shouldn't be too difficult.

No, I'm afraid not. It's also not a very easy function to add to the current code base.

General Discussion & Help / Re: Weird noise sound in video snaps
« on: November 15, 2021, 09:38:55 PM »
It seems to be a Linux only issue, and has to do with the volume controls. It's triggered by animated volume as well as the default fade-in that's in the code. I've been running a few hours worth of tests, but no luck in getting rid of it thus far. Something in these videos (and I found a lot that have this issue) triggers something in the Linux codec for gstreamer.

See if this works for you, after changing
firstCollection = Pub Fruit Machines Official
in your global settings.conf file

It may not be perfect, but it may help you along your way.
As always: make a backup of files before you change/replace them.

My spare time's a bit limited I'm afraid, but if you can send me a small bootable subset of your current setup I should be able to fix this for you. It's rather difficult to do it based solely on the layout.xml, because I'd have no way to test whether what I did was correct. Just send me a PM with a link, and I'll download and provide you with a fixed layout.xml file.

Basically what I need is your current setup with a single menu item; I can take it from there.

My apologies. RetroFE 0.10.26 contains some features on request that I posted elsewhere in the forum, but I forgot to upload it here as well.
Added features:

- Flacc support
RetroFE should now be able to play your .flacc music files.

- Borders
By adding
windowBorder = yes
windowResize = yes
to your global settings file you can now get a bordered resizable window around RetroFE.

RetroFE always synchronizes everything on the longest duration of any animation type. A quick grep of your layout.xml gave me:

<onEnter><set duration="0.01"><animate type="y" to="0"/></set><set duration="1"><animate type="y" to="-2320"/></set></onEnter>
<onEnter><set duration="1.4"><animate type="xoffset" from="-40" to="0"/></set></onEnter>
<onEnter><set duration="1"><animate type="volume" to="0.5"/></set></onEnter>
<onEnter><set duration="2"><animate type="xoffset" from="-40" to="0"/></set></onEnter>
So your enter animation (between splash and the main menu) will take 2 seconds.

<onMenuEnter  menuIndex="0"><set duration="0.001"><animate type="alpha" to="1"/></set></onMenuEnter>
<onMenuEnter menuIndex="1"><set duration="0.001"><animate type="x" to="-1700"/></set><set duration="0.001"><animate type="alpha" to="0"/></set></onMenuEnter>
<onMenuEnter menuIndex="1"><set duration="0.001"><animate type="x" to="-700"/></set><set duration="0.001"><animate type="alpha" to="0"/></set></onMenuEnter>
<onMenuEnter menuIndex="1"><set duration="0.2"><animate type="alpha" to="0"/></set></onMenuEnter>
<onMenuEnter menuIndex="1"><set duration="0.3"><animate type="alpha" to="0"/></set></onMenuEnter>
<onMenuEnter><set duration="0.001"><animate type="alpha" to="0"/></set></onMenuEnter>
So entering the fruit machines will take 0.3 seconds.

<onMenuExit menuIndex="0"><set duration="0.001"><animate type="alpha" to="0"/></set></onMenuExit>
<onMenuExit menuIndex="1"><set duration="0.001"><animate type="alpha" to="0"/></set></onMenuExit>
<onMenuExit  menuIndex="1"><set duration="0.001"><animate type="alpha" to="1"/></set></onMenuExit>
<onMenuExit menuIndex="1"><set duration="0.001"><animate type="alpha" to="1"/></set></onMenuExit>
<onMenuExit  menuIndex="1"><set duration="0.001"><animate type="x" to="-1700"/></set><set duration="0.001"><animate type="alpha" to="0.7"/></set></onMenuExit>
<onMenuExit  menuIndex="1"><set duration="0.001"><animate type="x" to="-700"/></set><set duration="0.001"><animate type="alpha" to="0.4"/></set></onMenuExit>
<onMenuExit><set duration="0.001"><animate type="alpha" to="0"/></set></onMenuExit>
Exiting the menu should go pretty quickly, so you've already got that covered.

General Discussion & Help / Re: Retrofe and touchscreen

Doubtful; the input code doesn't support touch screens, though the select might register as a mouse button click. Scrolling won't work though.
