I dont have RetroFE set up anymore but i think the problem is you are trying to shortcut to a shortcut in the retrofe root. What i did when i ran it from desktop/taskbar was make a shortcut to the retrofe.exe in the core folder then edited the properties for 'start in' to the RetroFE root.

IE: Target = C:\RetroFE\core\retrofe.exe
     Start in= C:\RetroFE

The reason for 'start in' for the retrofe root is that all the relative paths work from this, if you started from the core folder then the relative paths would be pointing to the wrong directories

I got it to load using the same arguments, kronos is a branch or yabuase just as yabasanshiro is. Are you trying to load a savepoint with loadstate?

Does it work ok with your files starting the emulator itself.

I could not get yaba sanshiro to launch full screen through retrofe even with a -f command. Kronos is a branch of yabause and it launches fine using the same arguments, just go into the settings and hide the menubar

executable = emulators\kronos\kronos.exe
arguments = -a -i "%ITEM_FILEPATH%"

here's a list of commands

"-a",  "--autostart", NULL,       "Automatically start emulation."
        "-b",  "--bios=", "<BIOS>",       "Choose a bios file."
        "-c",  "--cdrom=", "<CDROM>",     "Choose the cdrom device.",
"-f",  "--fullscreen",      "Start the emulator in fullscreen."
        "-i",  "--iso=", "<ISO>",         "Choose a dump file."
"-nb", "--no-bios"        "Use the emulated bios"
        "-ns", "--no-sound"       "Turns sound off."

I have another old core duo with linuxmint 18 on it, been stuck in the garage for a couple of years but have no need of anything fancy if all it was going to do was run the front end.
The win7 was a tut i could follow to to make it read only thus make it perfect for a cab as it could shut down safely but still not sure what i want to run on it..

Ta again

Worry is tad too much, mistrust something that a 3rd person made that you dont know, have the details or file contents of then yeah. I deleted the file when you last replied and use a shortcut as well as one on my taskbar, no problems launching the FE from either nor launching emus from it despite something about mounting drives..

While I'm on, I have an old core 2 duo PC I was thinking of sticking in a Cab, I have the option of Win7 but linux could be a go if it offers better  efficiency. What Linux distro could you recommend to run RetroFE?

Thanks again

Is the source to this RetroFE.exe available Phulshuff or as you say it's a bat to exe then a text file of the bat contents? I have no idea what mounting drives has to do with it, all my paths are relative whether in the launcher or bat files I have used. I've used auto hotkey script to launch other stuff and hide the mouse but if the bat files contents are available for people to mess about and adapt to their own needs then great.

Thanks, I got the info from another, its a file made by someone called Fnord. Whats in it I have no idea so I deleted it anyway and just use a shortcut with it staring in the RetroFE root

There's a RetroFE.exe in root that shows this when opened in hexedit
C:\Users\Eric\Documents\CFW_Launcher_VS2015_RunTime_NoWait_TrayRefresh\Forgotten_Worlds\Release\Forgotten_Worlds.pdb

Do you know what this file does apart from replacing the shortcut?

Its case sensitive

Your log says
" D:\Aura 4k\emulators\RetroArch\retroarch.exe"
but your screencap shows  retroarch\retroarch.exe

The instructions i gave was for the front end, the controls for the game are set up in the emulators.
Some of those settings you will see in the controls.conf are to do with the likes of the xbox360/one controller and will have no relevance to you if you dont have your encoder wired up as such, hence why i recommended making a new controls.conf set up to how you wanted. You could choose your next playlist or whatever based on your buttons and not someone elses

joyAxis5+ and joyAxis2+ are for the shoulder triggers on an xbox controller, the + being because they are analog( i assume)

Paste the line below into a text document and save it, rename the extension to .bat and run it. This will open up your game controller settings, click properties and note down what your joystick registers as and the buttons. You can then make your own controls.conf to what suits you
When copying the button numbers in windows you drop it by 1 in the controls.conf, example button 1 in the windows  control panel you change to joy0Button0 for RetroFE

rundll32.exe shell32.dll,Control_RunDLL joy.cpl

Well first of all I dont use that theme so dont know if anything else loads along with it, if I make a shortcut to the Desktop for RetroFE.exe in the core folder I also have to open the shortcut properties up and change the 'start in' path to the root RetroFE folder otherwise all the relative paths in the configs are out and my wont load. Maybe you need to do something similar for your set up

General Discussion & Help / Re: naomi cant quit

I see the previous unhelpful reply has been deleted, thats support for you. There are a few ways to get around this with the easiest being using Rocketlauncher to launch all your emus and roms, you can set this up to quit the emus as well as use other bezels if that is what you're into. The other is to use AHK(auto hotkey) and set it up to quit using a controller key ( I think I had mine as button 7+8, menu and view on box one controller ) and either have it launch with RetroFE or with the emu using a bat file, sorry I cant help you with that as I dont seem to have the files anymore. A great resource though is the forum at arcadecontrols where some of the guys like Howard Casto really know their stuff and wont laugh at you.
If you find Rocketlauncher troublesome there are people out there who already set it up and you can find them from the same place you got the one you have now

Have you tried using a keyboard encoder and then mapping controls to keyboard buttons. There was a project a few years ago called kade that gave the option of flashing an arduino with firmware compatible with consoles, hid joystick or mame compatible keyboard. As you are using this as a project then something like could be part of the learning process
