General Discussion & Help / Re: Windows applications in RetroFE?
« on: March 28, 2017, 03:46:08 PM »
Yeah just launch it. Same with Pinball FX2...I'm just not sure how that works since the main menu is used to display collections...kodi or Pinball FX2 are not really collections.

General Discussion & Help / Windows applications in RetroFE?
« on: March 27, 2017, 07:05:12 PM »
Yello! Random question: I've seen some theme videos that have Pinball FX2 in their system list in the main menu...just curious to know how that is done and if this can be applied to something like Kodi for example.

Thanks!  8)

Thanks for the help. I think I got all my arcade games to list and with the proper names. Some of the good games (Marvel Superheroes vs Xmen, Dungeons & Dragons...) wont launch. I tried with the Mame emulator that came with the RetroFE pack and Retroarch's many mame201x cores. Is it just a compatibility issue or I am doing something wrong?

7
Also wondering if it matters which Mame xml version I download and use. If it does, how do i know which version i need?

8
So...how does the config line below work? I assume it looks at the meta xml file and matches my zipped game file name? Just asking cause it's displaying the filename in the game menu for most of my games.

metadata.type = MAME

Sorry if this info is already somewhere in the forum but I am having challenges getting RetroFE to list all my Mame/Arcade games. I am using the default collection folder that came with my RetroFE. It is called Arcade. I copied my individual zipped games into the Arcade collection's roms folder (over 26k). From what I can tell all the game zip files are named the same way as a HyperList xml I downloaded. I downloaded the 0.183 mame XML and Include files from the download section. I renamed the include file to "include.txt" into the root of the Arcade collection folder. I renamed the XML file to "Arcade.xml" and copied it to the  /meta/hyperlist folder. I can select the Arcade collection from the REtroFE menu, but for some reason it will not list all the games. Below is the config file the collection is using. Thanks in advance for the help.

# If BASE_ITEM_PATH=D:/ROMs and the name of this collection is named "Arcade"

General Discussion & Help / Need help setting up Playstation game directory
« on: February 04, 2017, 04:01:28 PM »
Need help getting RetroFE to list/detect my PSX games when they are in subfolders (if possible). Here is my setup (will use FFVII as an example):

Bin & Cue folder
\collections\Playstation\roms\Final Fantasy VII (USA)\Final Fantasy VII (USA) (Disc 1).cue
\collections\Playstation\roms\Final Fantasy VII (USA)\Final Fantasy VII (USA) (Disc 2).cue
\collections\Playstation\roms\Final Fantasy VII (USA)\Final Fantasy VII (USA) (Disc 3).cue

Playstation collection settings.conf
list.includeMissingItems = false
list.extensions = cue
list.menuSort = yes
launcher = Playstation

Playstation lauchner conf (Playstation.conf)
executable = emulators\RetroArch\retroarch.exe
arguments = -f -L .\cores\mednafen_psx_hw_libretro.dll "%ITEM_FILEPATH%"

RetroFE will list my games if I dump all my Cue & Bin files directly in the roms folder. Maybe that is how it is meant to be. But if it can work with each game being in their own individual folders, i think I would prefer that? Thoughts?

Anyone using RetroArch for PS emulation? All my PS game images are zipped and include a .CUE file with several "track" .BIN files...not sure if that will work with any launcher. If so it would be nice if you shared your launcher command line. I could also use tips on how to convert my game images to proper ISOs if i need to do so.

Worth a try I suppose. Did not think of it since the post was over a year old.
