General Discussion & Help / Re: Installing RetroFE in Raspbian Stretch
« on: November 28, 2019, 03:49:06 AM »
Is there a step by step out there for this? I would like this to be my cross-platform setup as I put years into perfecting my Windows collection with this.

I run the script above in the OP, but for the life of me I can't remember where I got it from. I think it was mentioned in the download link once upon a time. Some errors come up during the install but they go by so quickly that I cannot see them all. Running from terminal emulator as SU.

Sorry to revive an old thread, but I have reinstalled Stretch a couple of times and still can't get this to compile. Is there any chance this will be revisited? I tried EmulationStation and it is god awful compared to RetroFE.

General Discussion & Help / RetroFE for Raspbian Buster?
« on: July 08, 2019, 01:07:03 PM »
Peter,

Will there be any builds for Raspbian Buster or Raspberry Pi in general in the future?

5
Is there an archive I can extract to my installed folder that would replace whatever is missing?

6
I'm using the official Stretch image on a Pi 3B+ FWIW

7
Yes the executable is missing as well.

8
Most glaringly a lack of an executable but it would appear that the core folder is empty as well.

General Discussion & Help / Installing RetroFE in Raspbian Stretch
« on: May 13, 2019, 03:14:27 AM »
I am using a Pi 3B+ with Raspbian Stretch using the line:
Code: [Select]
bash <(curl -s https://bitbucket.org/phulshof/retrofe/raw/default/Scripts/Raspi2/install.sh)Install is NOT working. It makes a RetroFE folder in root but not all is there. I have tried with and without SU access. Can anyone advise?

General Discussion & Help / Re: Changing Aeon Nox to 4:3 ratio?
« on: April 27, 2019, 02:40:32 AM »
Understood. I guess my next question should be whether or not RetroFE is working in Raspbian Stretch on the Pi 3B+. Has development stopped? What are the major issues with it?

I guess my next question is if my monitor doesn't support 1600x1200 resolution, will this FE scale everything down to 1280x1024 resolution, or do I need to give the XML file a good once over?

I'm copying (some of) my collection over to a Pi with a 4:3 monitor. Does Aeon Nox have native 4:3 support (is there a change in the settings) or do I need to download a 4:3 version of the theme?

EDIT: I see it now. Deleting layout.xml and renaming layout 4x3.xml to layout.xml

General Discussion & Help / Re: Windows 7 can't launch a batch file
« on: November 18, 2018, 03:47:23 AM »
Why would you want RetroFE to launch Notepad to edit a batch file? Are you trying to RUN a batch file?
If so, create a launcher that looks like this:

executable = C:\Windows\System32\cmd.exe
arguments = /C "%ITEM_FILEPATH%"

and in the settings.conf in your collection, point to said launcher and make sure your list.extensions looks like this:
list.extensions = bat

I'm doing this to run my DOSBox games in RetroFE and am using batch files due to the unique constraints of the majority of games in the collection.

My launcher is
arguments = %ITEM_NAME%
Thank you so much it was that little bit right there that helped!

I had:
arguments = "%ITEM_NAME%"

Once I removed the quotes it worked.

I have done all of this already. What folder do you have your installation? What are you using for launcher arguments?
