Okay. Also noticed the same issue occurs when trying to use playlist as a menu item. Works, sort of, but also grabs the rom names and not the playlist names.

General Discussion & Help / Playlist - textFallback
« on: July 09, 2023, 01:41:45 AM »
Hi, when using reloadableImage type="playlist mode="commonlayout" textFallback="true", retrofe will happily use a playlist image in the common folder based on the name of the playlist in the collection, but if you do not have an image, textFallback will use the name of the rom and not the name of the playlist. I'm not sure if this is a bug, or if I'm doing something wrong. If anyone has some advice, please let me know. Otherwise, could this be added as a feature? thanks :)

I've also attempted to make my personal version of this Aura theme as it's the best I've seen for console games (wouldn't share it out of respect for the original creator). Put a lot of work into it the past year. Got it working with the same type of menu system as other popular builds like CoinOPS with the help of onMenuIdle. Not as good as selecting a game to go into the games menu like the original Aura theme, but using Retrofe I don't think there's another way to do it without making each collection a game like the original. I absolutely love it, and having spent the last year on it, I can see how much work the creator put into it planning, and creating it. Much respect.

Im not sure what font it is, but there's a good chance it's one of the fonts in the font folder under the layout folder. Open each one up and see if there's a match.

General Discussion & Help / Re: Crash on startup. Multiple monitors?

Legend. Setting numscreens to 2 but setting the second screen to a number outside of 1 like 2 or 3 works. Retrofe is opening every time I run it. Thanks for your help Jonah.

Feature Requests / Suggestions / Reference info.conf from collection
« on: June 25, 2023, 10:44:10 PM »
Hi, is it possible to add a feature where you can reference info.conf files from the collection you're referencing a rom from (.sub)? For example, I have standard collections for Sega master system, super Nintendo, etc., and then have custom collections (all shooters, all racing, etc.) that use .sub files to reference roms from the base collections. When using sub files you can reference other collections and it will use media from the referenced collection. but, you still need to add info.conf files to the custom collection, which causes a doubling up of files. It's not a big issue, just nice to have. Huge fan of Retrofe so thanks for all your hard work :) I've attached an image of what my custom collection looks like. just a few sub files, a playlist folder, and the info folder containing all the info.conf files for the referenced games.

FYI: Looks like it’s still happening. It’s only when you set settings.conf to use only one monitor but you have two connected. If you allow retrofe to use both monitors, even without a layout for the 2nd it works fine. I’ve only learnt of it now as I’ve just started using 2 monitors as I like to keep one up for browsing, but have my main monitor running retrofe.

I have the same issue when only wanting to use 1 monitor. Reverting to 10.31 and using the settings.conf file and core folder from it, appear to fix the issue for me. Hard to tell as it's inconsistent, but so far so good. I do occasionally like to use 2 monitors, so I'll write a script, for now, to copy over my previous core folder and settings.conf file when wanting to use 2 monitors.
