Title: Problems changing resolutions
Post by: phasermaniac on December 27, 2018, 08:11:09 PM
Hi! I'm new here, I'm using Retrofe with a 15hz crt and I have a little problem:
I'm using 640x240 as default resolution, and Retrofe displays nicely.
Some pc games, for example Badland. For this the resolution that works best is 480x240 but it doesn't change itself, so I use a tool called Multires to change the resolution with commandline before the game runs, and when exiting, restore the previous resolution. The problem is when returning retrofe, I see it cut like in the image:
It cuts the image and only shows the previous x resolution space (480) in the new resolution (640).
Fom arcade games I'm using Groovymame, which changes the resolution itself for each game, and it does not produce this problem.

Any tip for this? I tried changing settings.conf with and height to stretch, windowed and fullscreen and unload Sdl true false but no way
thanks

Is this under Windows or under Linux? I've seen similar issues when using the PCSX emulator in the "wrong" graphics mode, so I can see if I can figure out what's causing this.

I noticed that if PCSX wasn't set to 1920x1080 it would mess up RetroFE when returning from PCSX, similarly to what you described above.

Any clue on this?
I realized I have this problem with dosbox too.
I set dosbox at 320x240 and use multires to change screen resolution, when exitting and returning to retrofe, I have the same problem.
I use Pcsx r at 640x240 and it returns rght.
The problem seems to appear only with emulators which cant change resolution by themselves and I use the multires program to do it. Actually it changes the desktop resolution
