Title: Matching metadata (video, artwork) with games name
Post by: cassette on June 16, 2017, 09:09:07 PM
Is there any program you guys would recommend for this? I have quite a lot of games that show no metadata associated with them because the name of the mismatches (Chrono Trigger.zip =/= Chrono Trigger (USA).avi)

Personally I use the HyperSpin XML files as a base. Matching art and roms are easy to find for those.

As above, I also use HS XML files as they are kind of "the standard" that artwork tends to be named against so as Pieter says, finding said assets is easier.

I also run HyperSpin RomManager (http://www.hyperspin-fe.com/files/file/7420-hyperspin-rommanager) (plus others if needed) against roms as well as any asset folders as you can change the file extension to make sure everything matches and it also allows manual matching was well.

Its a bit tedious on large collections though.
